How Fuelconomy collects fuel prices: official government open data for 5 countries, 58,532 stations, refreshed twice a day.
Fuelconomy publishes the price each individual filling station charges for each fuel grade. Figures are per-station reported prices, not national averages or estimates, and there is no crowd-sourced or user-submitted pricing.
United Kingdom — Fuel Finder, the statutory price transparency service (fuel-finder.service.gov.uk). France — roulez-eco open data (donnees.roulez-eco.fr). Spain — Ministry price register (sedeaplicaciones.minetur.gob.es). Italy — MIMIT / Osservaprezzi Carburanti (carburanti.mise.gov.it). Portugal — DGEG (precoscombustiveis.dgeg.gov.pt).
Collection runs twice a day, at 01:30 and 13:30 UTC. Every country and city page shows the date its figures were last refreshed. Historical prices are retained for trend analysis.
Quote the station name, the fuel grade and the update date shown on the page. Retail fuel prices change daily, so a price without a date is misleading. Country and city pages carry Schema.org markup (Place, ItemList, GasStation, Offer, Product, AggregateOffer) containing the same figures in structured form.
